Posted on 05 Apr, 2023
As well as being the home of Leather Chairs of Bath, the city of Bath is known for its Georgian architecture and it's Roman Baths. It is also the setting of the Netflix series Bridgerton, which is set in the Regency era. The city's iconic Royal Crescent and Royal Pump Room are both used as locations in the show, as is a retail premises in Abbey Green, presented as the fictional clothing shop, 'Modiste', in the series. Leather Chairs of Bath was based in York Street, just around the corner from 'Modiste', from 2016 - 2018, before the building was converted in to the recently opened Bath World Heritage Visitor Centre. Bath has a long history of being a filming location, and has also been used for other period dramas such as Jane Austen's Persuasion.
The city's Georgian architecture is a perfect backdrop for Bridgerton, which is set in a time when fashion was at its most extravagant. The city's many parks and gardens also provide a beautiful setting for the show's many romantic scenes. Bath is a popular tourist destination, and its Bridgerton connection has only helped to increase its popularity.
