A highly unusual and rare leather chair ! This delightful piece has hidden, compartmentalised drawers that slide from each arm. One of the drawers has a metal liner suggesting the chair may have been as a smoker's chair, with the other drawer sections long enough to hold matches, pipe-cleaners, or other smoking accoutrements.

Early 20th century, and possibly from the continent, the chair is in largely original condition apart from the well blended replacement leather upholstery on the front edge beneath a newly made cushion.

A chair to be cherished and looked after in order to maintain the condition of the original leather.
